Abstract
A consistent explanation of both the β-γ angular correlation and the β-ray spectrum of Sb124 is obtained with the ST type interaction in the Fermi theory of β-decay. It is concluded that (i) the decay scheme is 3(−) − 2(+) − 0(+), (ii) the β-decay is a first forbidden transition which contains the reduced nuclear matrix elements M(β r), M(β a), M(β σ × r) and M(Bβij), and (iii) the γ-decay is an electric quadrupole radiation. It is also noticed that 4(+) − 2(+) − 0(+) is ruled out. Keywords
