Abstract
We have calculated the one-electron excitation spectrum of a light impurity in a simple metal in an approximation which incorporates the nonlocality and energy dependence of the exchange and correlation contribution to the self-energy. Compared with the density of states found in the local-density functional approach the excitation energy of the bound state associated with the impurity is not shifted appreciably as long as the binding energy is smaller than the plasmon energy of the metal. Keywords
