Push-Pull Cataract Aspiration and Franceschetti Corepraxy

Abstract
The aspiration or push-pull technique for congenital cataract extraction without iridectomy has been well accepted.1-4 However, poor preoperative pupillary dilatation has been considered an indication for full iridectomy superiorly and vertical iridotomy inferiorly.5,6 A large corneal section is thus required, and one of the major advantages of the push-pull technique is thereby eliminated; viz, its atraumatic nature.
