Struma Lymphomatosa in Mother and Daughter with Serologic and Histologic Evidence

Abstract
Struma lymphomatosa in a mother and a daughter with serologic and histologic evidence is reported. Circulating antithyroid antibodies were also present in 2 of the 3 normal siblings of the affected daughter. The presence of struma lymphomatosa in the mother and daughter suggests that the defect which permits auto-immunization in this disease is genetic in origin. The histologic differences between struma lymphomatosa in children and adults are presented.
