Forces and torques acting on plane and cylindrical electrets in slot-effect transducers

Abstract
A theoretical discussion of forces and torques acting on electrets in slot‐effect transducers of plane and cylindrical geometry is presented. Both bipolar and monopolar electrets are considered. The electrets are assumed to carry arbitrary internal and surface charges. The dependence of forces and torques on the magnitude and location of the charges and on other electret parameters is analyzed.
