Abstract
Our motivation for this paper is to stimulate discussions within the human factors community about teaching Cognitive Engineering at the undergraduate level. For the last fourteen years, the Cognitive Systems Engineering Laboratory at the Ohio State University has offered an undergraduate course in Cognitive Engineering (multiple offerings per year to Industrial Engineering, Industrial Design, Computer Science and Psychology students). In this paper, we will draw from our teaching experiences and describe our framework for teaching Cognitive Engineering. Keywords
