Dominant Hereditary Nerve Deafness

Abstract
A description of a family with dominant nerve deafness running through five generations is given. A branch of the family has been examined with pure-tone and Békésy audiograms. It seems that the hearing impairment involves the middle frequencies first. Recruitment has not been demonstrated with the Békésy audiogram, but examinations of the stapedius reflex indicate that the lesion is of a cochlear origin.
