Abstract
Synopsis: Fossil microfaunal assemblages containing common Cytheropteron montrosiense Brady, Crosskey and Robertson have been recovered for the first time off the west coast of Scotland. It is suggested that low or variable salinities may be a major factor in controlling its distribution. Keywords
