Work Related Issues in Occupational Therapy: Your Values do Count

Abstract
Values have been shown to be central factors within the career planning process and work-related values likely play an important part in our decision making. This paper focuses on the values held by occupational therapists. A comparison of values endorsed on the Life Roles Inventory by occupational therapists (N = 1366) and those endorsed by females in other professional/management positions (N = 1000) is presented. How the differing levels of endorsement are likely to affect the career planning and decision making and how this may be used to explain some elements of therapists' behaviour is discussed.
