Abstract
Interaction of θ=0° spin waves with drifted helicons is analyzed, and a convective instability is predicted. The mechanism for amplification is due to the second‐order rf electron field in the drift direction. This Lorentz field, is large because μeff is large in the region of synchronism between the spin wave and the electrokinetic wave.
