Abstract
The equation of state of a gas in virial form is derived from the equilibrium constants for the formation of molecular clusters. It is indicated that by choosing effective Lennard‐Jones parameters independently for clusters of various numbers of molecules, the actual virial coefficients may be represented more satisfactorily. Results for the third virial coefficient are shown for A, N2, CO, CO2, CH4, C2H4, CF4, and Xe.Keywords
