Data on numbers of admissions admission rates for all-listed and 1st-listed epilepsy patients in nonfederal short-stay hospitals are prsented. These statistics are based on 232,000 hospital discharge records from a probability sample of approximately 7000 hospitals. The patterns of admission rates for epilepsy are compared with the prevalence of epilepsy and trends of admission rates for all conditions. Keywords
