Abstract
In the past the standard method for determining the chloride content of soils has been to titrate with silver nitrate using potassium chromate as indicator. In most cases, the soil must be filtered through a filter candle and where in favourable cases filtration can be dispensed with, it is necessary to wait until the soil has settled before aliquot portions can be pipetted off and titrated. Keywords
