Abstract
Describes the use of a low-cost Michelson interferometer and associated equipment as a Fourier transform spectrometer capable of achieving better than 1 cm-1 resolution. The instrument was design to be used for emission studies in the near infrared (IR). Examples of the instrument's use in the visible and near-IR regions are given; specifically, the use of the interferometer with a discharge flow system to detect the emission from O2(1 Delta g) is documented. Keywords
