Abstract
Preliminary observations on the in vitro survival of virulent T. pallidum (Nicholas strain) obtained from rabbit testicular syphilomas indicate that under a given set of exptl. conditions exposure to 5% CO2 had a definite prolonging effect on survival time. Survival was improved when incubation temps. below 37 C were employed. No evidence of multiplication was obtained.Keywords
