Abstract
L-thyroxine inhibits gastric secretion initially, as does dessicated thyroid, but after 8-9 weeks of administration every other day, secretion returns to normal. Vagal control is believed not to be affected; it is suggested that the adrenal cortical hypertrophy which occurs is associated with hypofunction of the adrenal cortex. This publication has 21 references indexed in Scilit:
