μ-τSymmetry and Maximal CP Violation

Abstract

It is found that, in models with sin(theta_{13})=0, complex flavor neutrino masses are only allowed to possess one fictitious global phase, giving no CP violation. A \mu-\tau symmetric texture leading to sin(theta_{13})=0 gives such an example. We illustrate how to obtain an extended texture with CP violation related to the \mu-\tau symmetric one, which turns out to show maximal CP violation.
