Abstract
The D 2πg—A 2πu bands of (N215)+ have been studied in the 2050 to 2570‐Å region in order to determine the correct vibrational quantum number assignment. The results obtained from the study of the isotope shifts of the band heads show that the quantum number of the previously observed lowest vibration level of the D state is v=3. The potential energy curve of the D state has also been calculated by means of the Rydberg—Klein—Rees method, which has been modified by Vanderslice et al.Keywords
