Abstract
Under the Governor's proposals for reorganization of state government in Massachusetts, the Department of Public Health, in its present form, will be abolished. Its traditional functions will not be abandoned, but they will be redistributed among three distinct administrations. Each will be a part of the Secretariat of Human Services. Health or health-related services will be grouped according to whether they provide regulation, patient care or rehabilitation.
