Abstract
An amplitude formulation is employed for determining the motion of the electron spins in a ferromagnetic insulator in the presence of scattering from inhomogeneities. This formulation justifies the omission of an explicit back reaction term in previous ``energy'' and ``number of quanta'' formulations in the usual case where a large number of spin waves are excited by the scattering centers. The excited spin waves add up in such an incoherent fashion that they do not react back on the principal mode. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
