Abstract
A practical synthesis of (R)-2-benzyloxy-1-iodo-3-butene, a bifunctional chiral synthon from (R,R)-tartaric acid and its application to (R)-ν-caprolactone, a pheromone of Trogoderma species, is described.Keywords
