Abstract
The galvanic skin response can accompany vascular constriction or dilatation of the paw in the cat. Vhen the responses are elicited reflexly, they fluctuate independently in size, have different optimal depths of anesthesia and may fail independently. The reflex responses may be inhibited together or separately by repetitive stimulation in the medullary reticular substance. Theses findings imply that the post-ganglionic pathways are also separate and independent in action. The independence of the responses suggests that separate bulbo-spinal pathways are available which can be activated independently by stimulations or by neural activity. Keywords
