Abstract
Moths of Bucculatrix thurberiella Busck lived significantly longer on cotton with nectaries than on the nectariless counterpart, resulting in larger F1 larval populations on, and greater feeding damage to, the nectaried cotton. Cotton nectar apparently is an important food source for the moths and essential to their normal development. The potential for controlling this insect by use of plant characters is indicated. Keywords
