Abstract
Microscopic calculations of the total reaction cross sections for protons on , , , and , and neutrons on and have been made, which provide for the first time an excellent description of the data for projectile energies from 15 MeV through 1 GeV. The calculations are based on the experimental nucleon-nucleon total cross sections and explicitly include the effects of the real nuclear potential, the Coulomb potential, Pauli blocking, and Fermi motion.
