Abstract
The global surface activity coefficients characterizing nonideality of the surface solution generated by differences in molecular interactions and adsorbent heterogeneity are defined and studied. These activity coefficients may be evaluated from the excess adsorption data. It is shown that they are useful to formulate a simple unified description of liquid/solid adsorption involving effects of solution nonideality and adsorbent heterogeneity. Keywords
