Abstract
Recent work suggests many lymphatics propel lymph by intrinsic beating, the rate and force of which are automatically adjusted by the prevailing level of filling pressure (preload) and outflow resistance (afterload). Extrinsic forces on the other hand have little effect on lymph transport at normal intralymphatic pressures and volumes.Keywords
