Abstract
This work reports on the isolation and characterization of 2 glutamine auxotrophs in N. crassa. The mutations responsible for the glutamine-requiring phenotype were very closely linked, and 1 of them was recessive to wild type. The mutations impaired the conversion of glutamic acid to glutamine and resulted in changes of the activity and oligomeric structure of the enzyme glutamine synthetase. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
