Abstract
The ophthalmological status of school aged deaf children was studied with control of age, sex, type of school, and success in learning. The incidence of eye defects was twice that found for hearing children. These deficiencies were equally distributed by age and school but were not directly related to success in learning. It appears that children with deafness also tend to have defects in vision. However, the precise nature of the association between visual deficiencies and deafness is not clear. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
