Abstract
An analysis of the literature was made and 37 cases studied. Of the 37 patients, 32 died during the period of observation or shortly after leaving hospital, and an autopsy examination was obtained in 21. Death was due to rupture of the aneurysm in 17 (possibly in 19) cases. Rupture of the aorta caused death within 1-2 days in most cases. Four patients survived rupture for 3 to 6 days, and one for 6 weeks. Keywords
