Abstract
Sir—Micozzi et al. [1], in their interesting article on Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (SM) infection, showed that SM isolates had relatively high resistance to multiple antibiotic agents: only 27% of isolates were susceptible to ceftazidime, 15% to cefepime, 19% to ciprofloxacin, and 27% to amikacin. Only piperacillin/tazobactam and ticarcillin-clavulanate had in vitro activity against >50% of isolates. Keywords
