Abstract
Suillusgranulatus prevented the stunting effect of root pathogen Myceliumradicisatrovirens on Pinusresinosa (red pine) seedlings grown in gnotobiotic conditions. In these conditions, the presence of carbon dioxide also seems to have stimulated a better growth of the seedlings inoculated with Suillusgranulatus as compared with the controls. In the light of these findings, the authors suggest caution in the interpretation of results from experiments in closed containers.Suillusgranulatus has an antagonistic effect against many pathogenic fungi probably as a result of the production of an antibiotic.
