Abstract
The modes of small, lossless, axially magnetized, ferrite-filled waveguides of various cross sections are described. The transverse dimensions are taken to be small compared to the dielectric wavelength in order to permit an accurate approximation. The approximation along with a new method of analysis greatly simplifies the description of the fields. Sketches of the transverse b, e, and h patterns are given for cylindrical, coaxial, and square cross sections. Formulas for the field components of each case considered are tabulated. The modes of rectangular waveguide, which cannot be described in a closed form solution, are discussed. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
