Abstract
Summary: Two main items of interest have arisen from the coring of the Rhaetic and Tea Green Marl near Whitby, namely: the possibility of a shoreline in Lower Rhaetic times somewhere to the east of Whitby; the mineralisation which includes: sulphates: Celestite SrSO 4 , Barite BaSO 4 , Anhydrite CaSO 4 and Gypsum CaSO 4 2 H 2 O carbonates: Strontianite SrCO 3 , Calcite CaCO 3 and Dolomite CaMg (C0 3 ) 2 sulphides: Pyrite FeS 2 , Pyrrhotite FeS (+S) and Galena PbS.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
