Abstract
Male guinea pigs were injected with adjuvant plus saline or adjuvant plus aspermatogenic antigen and sacrificed at weekly intervals up to 8 wks. Assays of testes, epididy-mides, livers and sera were made for the levels of leucine amino pepti-dase, alkaline phosphatase, a amylase, lipase and sorbitol dehydrogenase. Leucine amino peptidase and alkaline phosphatase levels were sharply elevated and these responses are interpreted as involving the lysosomal enzymatic complex in cellular destruction intratesticularly. Elevated levels of a amylase and lipase in sera may implicate the participation of serological enzymatic systems as well. Sorbitol dehydrogenase levels fell precipitously without indicating a degree of cellular depletion in the testes. Keywords
