Abstract
A scanning electron microscope examination of matrix stones, which were obtained from a 27 mo. old Japanese boy with congenital hydronephrosis, revealed a rough fibrous net structure with small depositions of calcium phosphate. Fibrous matrix may be the primary constituent, and the matrix stone may be the consequence of Ca deposition to it.
