Abstract
For measuring the duration of action of androgens, an increase in the seminal vesicle weight of the castrated male rat was used. Testosterone propionate, Nilevar, 4-estrene-3[beta], 17[beta]-diol-3, 17-dipropionate (sc-7525) and 17[alpha](-ethyl-4 estrene-3[beta], 17-[beta]-diol-3-propionate (sc-7294) were injected in 10 mg doses. Sc-7525 which showed the latest (10 days) and highest (134 mg) peak, gave the most marked response and a more favorable anabolic: androgenic ratio than did testosterone-propionate. The difference was most apparent at lower doses. Keywords
