Abstract
A history suggestive of renal colic led to the discovery of hyperparathyroidism in a pregnant woman. The patient's past history included nothing to suggest hyperparathyroidism, save an infant born seven years previously who had had hypocalcemic tetany shortly after birth. Surgical exploration was postponed until the second trimester of pregnancy, when a parathyroid adenoma was removed. The patient carried uneventfully to term, and was delivered of a healthy infant who has thrived. Keywords
