Abstract
This paper reports on a postal survey, undertaken in Scotland to describe the role of the 'specialist' nurse involved in the home care of dying patients. The issues raised and discussed as a result of this investigation include specialization in nursing, professional teamwork and the amount of information sharing which exists between patients, families and health care professionals. Keywords
