Abstract
Thermal conductivity measurements made by the guarded‐hot‐plate method are subject to error from heat loss by convection at the exposed edges of the sample. Analytical solutions are found and plotted to show the maximum errors for square and round samples in apparatus of various dimensions. Keywords
