Abstract
Massive calcification in myocardial infarcts is relatively uncommon. Although there are not more than 21 doubted cases in the medical literature to date, the condition occurs in a well defined group of patients with a characteristic clinical picture and may be demonstrated by standard radiologic techniques. The diagnosis is of some prognostic import since these patients, like others with coronary heart disease, are prone to sudden death.
