Abstract
A simple method is suggested which allows ionic mobilities in insulating liquids to be computed from conductivity-time curves obtained after application of a d.c. potential. The ionic radii and the concentration of the corresponding particles can be computed from the mobilities obtained. The method is applied to some data of J. B. Whitehead, and ionic mobilities of the order cm/sec. per volt/cm are obtained.
