Abstract
The spectrum of axisymmetric torsional Alfvén waves propagating in a cylindrical, nonuniform, resistive plasma waveguide has been analyzed by a method of singular perturbations. It is indicated why some experiments show a continuous spectrum and others a discrete spectrum.Keywords
