Abstract
SEVERAL STUDIES1-4 have demonstrated the cross-sectional relation between psychopathologic features and migraine headache in community samples. While the association between psychiatric disorders and migraine headaches may or may not reflect a causal one, a greater understanding of these specific relations may ultimately contribute to our understanding of the underlying etiologies of both conditions. An association between migraine headaches and the neurotransmitter serotonin and the emerging understanding of serotonin's importance in several psychiatric conditions makes this association more intriguing.5Keywords
