Abstract
1. The mean concentrations of sodium, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and magnesium were determined in the dry matter of the gut contents of European and Zebu steers which were allowed water ad lib. or in restricted quantities. Except for K concentrations in the colon and rectum, which were significantly higher in the Zebus, there were no breed differences. Keywords
