Abstract
Comparison between genotypic distributions for an autosomic gene pair expected among trisomic subjects and their normal sibs is shown to assign gene location. The differences between genotypic distributions are analysed for different gene frequencies. A similar conclusion is expected for the case of autosomic monosomy. Published data on distribution of ABO blood group among mongols and their normal sibs suggest that genes determining this blood system may be located in chromosome 21. The increased incidence of leukemia among subjects affected with mongolism is discussed and a genetical explanation for the causation of some cases of leukemia is proposed. Keywords
