Functioning Lipoadenoma of the Parathyroid Gland

Abstract
A UNIQUE functioning tumor of the parathyroid gland was found in a forty-one-year-old man with clinical hyperparathyroidism. It was composed of a blend of fibrofatty lobules and trabeculae and sheets of parathyroid chief cells. The only similar reported case is that of Ober and Kaiser,1 who described a nonfunctioning, large, encapsulated mass composed of an admixture of fibrofatty and parathyroid tissues that they designated as hamartoma of the parathyroid gland.
