Abstract
A photoelectric guider system used in connection with a star camera on the 18½‐inch refractor of the Dearborn Observatory is described. The guider uses a pyramid with four phototubes to determine the error‐signals in both coordinates. Commercially available servomotors mounted on the double‐slide plate‐holder receive these signals and adjust the plate carriage to achieve a ``central balance‐point'' upon the guide‐star. The guiding action is continuous and operates on stars down to the 8th magnitude. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
