Abstract
Chromo-somal, genetic, and dermatoglyphic studies were carried out in a family in which the mongoloid propositus inherited a 13-15/21 trans-location chromosome from his father. Examination of the pedigree revealed that 7 other healthy male carriers produced 9 children with normal chromosomes and 5 carrier children in addition to the mongoloid propositus. According to this study carrier males do not necessarily produce an unusually large proportion of carrier children. The translocation carriers in this family had neither significantly more nor less centralized palmar axial triradii than non-carrier relatives. Therefore this investigation provides no definite evidence that an allele is present in chromosome 21 which influences the height of the triradius. Keywords
