Abstract
Haemoglobin Koelliker is an electrophoretically fast moving hemoglobin which is formed in vivo and in vitro, when free normal Hb A is present in normal plasma. It can be found in plasma and urine after severe hemolysis from different causes. The abnormal-ity rests in the C-terminal end of the [alpha]-polypeptide chains: Hemoglobin Koelliker is hemoglobin A which has lost the C-terminal 141 arginine of the [alpha]-chains, probably by the action of a carboxypeptidase present in normal plasma. Keywords
