Abstract
The dissociation constant of acetic acid in water is between 4 and 26% greater at the solution vapour pressure than at one atmosphere in the range 250 to 374°C. K=ƒ(T)S.V.P. corresponds to neither the isobaric nor isochoric conditions, and the error introduced by neglecting the effect of the vapour pressure on the equilibrium at high temperatures is discussed. Keywords
